Local Public Journal

Editorial policy

Local Public Journal aims to make local public life easier to understand through accurate, clear and independent editorial work. We distinguish explanation from opinion, and we do not present general information as a substitute for advice from an appropriate professional or official source.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable sources before publication and use precise language when a process differs between places. We avoid inventing examples, treating an illustration as proof or implying that one account describes every community. Where information may change, readers should consult the relevant official source for the current position.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions remain separate from partnership arrangements. Paid or partner material is identified clearly as sponsored or partner content, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A placement does not guarantee editorial coverage, and partners do not control our conclusions.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error or a missing distinction that affects an article, contact us through the Contact page and describe the passage and the correction you believe is needed. We review correction requests, amend substantiated errors and make material changes clear to readers where appropriate.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are not evidence of a real place, event or person unless the accompanying text explicitly establishes that context. We do not use an illustration to support a factual claim.

Our point of view

Public life starts with paying attention.

A useful account of local life makes processes easier to follow without pretending every place is the same. We look closely at the details that help readers ask better questions.
